BERAS BASAH ISLAND

- Beras means rice
- Basah means wet.

THE HISTORY BEHIND IT NAME

Long time ago, there was a ship sail from Sulawesi towards Bontang. It carried tons of rice. But, the ship was hit by a huge wave that wrecked the ship. The tons of rice drifted and spilled to the surface of the island. Finally, people called it Beras Basah Island (Wet Rice Island).

Beras Basah Island is located in Bontang City, Bumi Etam, Kalimantan Timur.
To be able to visit this island, there are several access that all comes from the dock from Bontang. The fastest access is through Badak NGL dock by using speedboat which takes approximately fifteen minutes. Alternative access is through the Tanjung Limau dock and Tanjung Laut Bontang City by  using small engined boat which takes approximately one hour.

This island has beautiful white sand. there is also a lighthouse and beautiful views. There we can enjoy the sunset. This island is also suitable for you guys who love diving and snorkeling. It will be more fun if you stay.

For your information, if you wanna go to this island, do not forget to bring enough clean water because this island is  not provided clean water, unless you buy it at a price Rp. 5,000 per 5 liters.
