KAKABAN ISLAND

Kakaban Island is located in Derawan Islands. 

Kakaban Island is the island that has a lagoon in the middle of it. It has a unique shape like the number 9 with lake in the middle of it. Well, this lake called Kakaban Lake.

The water on this lake are the combination from sea water, ground water, and rain water. 

This lake is so popular because most people know it as Jellyfish Lake. Why? Of course because this lake is full of jellyfish. In this world, there are just two lakes of jellyfish and Kakaban Lake is the one of them. Kakaban Lake is the biggest jellyfish lake with 4 species of jellyfish that are Aurelia aurita, Tripedalia cystophora, Martigias papua, and Cassiopea ornata.

You can get a lot of unique experience that can only earned on Kakaban Lake. You can swim with thousands of jellyfish there in and you get a chance to hold the jellyfish without being stung. Kakaban Lake also has several dive spots that full of beautiful coral reefs with different cave and tunnel.

From Maratua Island : 30 minutes.
From Sangalaki Island : 20 minutes.
