WEATHER AND CLIMATE

The temperatures in East Kalimantan somewhere high and low is determined by the area of the sea surface and the distance from the beach. In general, East Kalimantan is hot climate with temperatures in 2013 ranged between 21,6℃ in Berau in October and 35.6℃ in Berau in September.

The lowest temperature average is 22,1 ℃ and the highest temperature average is 35,1℃. In 2013, the average of humadity is between 83% - 87%. The lowest air humadity observed by the Samarinda meteorological station happened in a few months with a humadity of 82% and the highest humadity occured in Berau in February with 91%.

THE CLIMATE

East Kalimantan has tropical climate and two seasons, rainy and dry seasons. The dry season usually occurs in May to October and the rainy season occurs in November to April. This situation continued every year interspersed with transitional season in certain months. Moreover, because of its location on the equator so the climate in East Kalimantan is also influenced by the Monsoon wind, namely wind West Monsoon November-April and East Monsoon winds from May to October. But in recent years, the state of the season in East Kalimantan sometimes erratic. In the months that was supposed to rain in reality there is no rain at all, or vice versa in the months that should dry it rains with a much longer time.
